A template can also be created from an existing device in SKOOR Engine, which may then be used a template for further similar devices you would like to add and maintain through the template.

A menu item Make template is available from the device object's dropdown menu:

The Name, Address and Collector may be changed at creation. Choose the Target folder by clicking the Browse button:

Then click Next and confirm with OK:

The following rules apply

• All objects supported by templates are created below the device template (jobs, groups, SLOs and sub-devices)
• There is no device attached to this template after creation, not even the device which the new template is created from.
  
• From now on the template may be used to create new device instances
